QR Code on CBSE Class 12 Maths Paper Sparks Curiosity Among
Students
Unexpected QR code printed on board exam question paper
draws attention; CBSE says exam integrity remains unaffected.
An unusual
element on the Class 12 Mathematics question paper of the Central Board
of Secondary Education (CBSE) has sparked curiosity and online discussion among
students across the country. A QR code printed on the question paper reportedly
led to unexpected online content when scanned, leaving many students puzzled
after the examination. The incident came to light after several students shared
their experiences on social media shortly after completing the exam. According
to them, scanning the QR code using a smartphone redirected them to a video
online. The discovery quickly went viral, with many users describing the moment
as surprising and humorous during the otherwise serious board examination.
Education experts
say QR codes are commonly included in board examination papers for security
purposes. These codes help authorities verify the authenticity of question
papers and track their origin if required. However, the reported redirection to
unrelated online content raised questions about how the code functioned.Responding
to the situation, officials from the Central Board of Secondary Education
clarified that the mathematics question paper used in the exam was genuine and
that the QR code is part of the board’s security and identification system.
According to the board, the presence of the code does not indicate any
compromise in exam security or question paper leakage.
The board also
reassured students and parents that the examination process remained smooth and
fair across all centers. Authorities are expected to review the incident to
understand how the QR code led to external content and to ensure that similar
confusion does not arise in future examinations.
